Scouting the Web

Blogger Headlines:
It's time to vote in the 2005 Homeschool Blogger Awards! Head over and cast your vote!

At long last, Square Talk Radio has a new episode! We talk a bit more about anti-Christmas bias then Tim asks Alex and I some hardball questions about President Bush and the War in Iraq entermixed with some of Tim's horrific fear of ranch salad dressing.(?)
You don't want to miss it! As Sean Hannity would say "30 minutes, it's all we give ya."
Or something like that. :-D

Also my friend and fellow Eagle Scout, Christian Politician has began to update his blog! Please head over there and give him a big blogger welcome!

The Life Of Travis:

Last Saturday I took the ACT for my second time. I think I did better on Reading, English, and Math but I ran out of time on the Science! :-( I got about 2/3 done and then had to guess at the rest. My last score was a 23 and my goal is a 26+. More updates on this when I get my test back.

Travis, I have recently discovered yours and the other homeschoolers' blogs.

Now, I am a college student and I am currently living outside of the United States, but I am in contact with younger people here where I live that (by necessity, if not by choice) are homeschooled. They are mostly American, but there are a few from other countries. I have shared your Squaretalk podcasts with them and they enjoy them. The only thing that they complained about (and I wondered about it myself) is that you seem to narrow your audience to American citizens living in the United States, which is absolutely understandable from my point of view, however, I was going to suggest that you tried to get in touch with young people living in other places of the world that share your beliefs and interests and that are homeschooled as well. I think it would enrich your little community because things around here and in other countries are culturally worlds apart from what you blog about sometimes, and it would give you a much wider perspective in some of the subjects that you and your fellow bloggers/podcasters have touched upon. (i.e. gun control, management of resources during disaster periods, etc).

These kids are practically cut off from the American way of life that some of them knew only when they were young children and some of them never really were in touch with, but their beliefs are the same as yours and they would love to contribute something to your community. They

Thanks for reading this rant (if you made it this far, that is) and I hope you give it some thought. Please get in touch with me at petirrojo@gmail.com if you are interested in my suggestion.

Take care,
